During the Reagan Administration, Keyes was appointed the Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs and played a key role in authoring the influential Mexico City Policy banning overseas abortion funding that continues today. Keyes is the founder of the conservative newsgroup, RenewAmerica, and in 2002 hosted MSNBC's 'Alan Keyes is Making Sense.'
